Explore the Mission: Mars Experience from Boston’s Museum of Science on Roblox

Explore the mysterious planet Mars as one of the very first brave pioneers to have set foot on the red planet in this mind-blowing Roblox experience, Mission: Mars! New update coming May 3rd!

Have you ever wondered what would it be like if you’re one of the very first pioneer astronauts who set foot on Mars? Well, if this is something you’d like to experience, Boston’s Museum of Science has launched a new Roblox experience called Mission: Mars that you can dive right into!

Launched back on Jan 31st this year, Mission: Mars is developed in collaboration with Filament Games to offer high-quality, entertaining, and educational experience (or “edutainment” as some may call it) to Roblox players, giving them an unprecedented look into being among the first pioneers on the red planet. Not only will you be able to explore every inch of the authentically-recreated planet in your customizable Mars survival suit, but you’ll also get to dive into some pretty cool engineering projects such as designing and customizing your very Mars rover!

Of course, unlike Matt Damon in The Martian, you won’t be alone on Mars nor will you be forced to survive on only potatoes. Instead, the game expects you to work together with your friends to help each other survive the harsh Martian environments, completing crucial missions sent by HQ, including searching for water ice, rescuing fellow explorers, and collecting samples on the planet, while earning badges and new cosmetic unlocks along the way. There’s a main hub that is filled with all sorts of fun facts and information where you can learn more about Mars as well.

To make sure that everything in the game is as realistic as possible, the developers even made an effort to use data that was kindly provided by the National Space Agency (NASA), along with aeronautical sciences and planetary knowledge provided by the Museum of Science, to develop the Roblox experience, Mission: Mars.

The experience actually goes hand-in-hand with what Roblox is promoting via its Roblox Community Fund (RCF) under its Roblox Education initiative. In fact, Mission: Mars is the first Roblox experience to have launched since receiving grants from the fund.

If Mission: Mars is the kind of quality Roblox experience that we can expect from recipients of the fund, we truly can’t wait to see what else we’ll be getting from the other RCF grantees, including a collaboration between FIRST and Filament Games to create a new virtual robotics game based on RoboCo, and a series of STEM-related educational learning experiences developed Project Lead The Way (PLTW)!
